Adult amateur program

September 6-12, virtual & in-person

This program is designed to provide amateur players (string and wind instruments) to get a chance to work with some of Canada's most sought-after classical musicians. This experience will include musical, social, and mentoring gatherings, and events will take place both virtually and in person.

 

Eligibility:

  • Advanced string and wind players (RCM Gr. 10 or higher equivalent)

  • Any age welcome!

Activities and Schedule:

  • Monday, Sept. 6 7-9pm: Wine & Cheese Listening Club (Virtual)

    • Meet the mentoring artists and other participant​

    • Discussion of a symphonic master work, Brahms 1st Symphony 

    • Enjoy the event with some wine and cheese!

  • Wednesday, Sept. 8 7:30-9pm: Becoming Antifragile on Stage - a performance confidence workshop (Virtual)

    • Resource and tips sharing

    • Q&A session with expert performer panel​

  • Thursday, Sept. 9 7-9pm: Prepared Reading Party (In-person, Toronto)

    • Read music with professional musicians ​

    • Get to know each other in-person!

    • Repertoire: Brahms String Sextet No. 1, Schumann Piano Quintet, and more

    • Location: A studio in Toronto TBC

  • Friday, Sept. 10 7:30pm Cocktails and Classics (In-person, Caledon)

    • Join us in Caledon for the festival opening concert​

  • Sunday, Sept. 12 2pm Beer and Baroque (In-person, Caledon)

    • Join us in Caledon for the final event of the festival​

Email us at info@caledonmusicfest.ca with a couple of preferred chamber pieces for prepared reading. We'll do our best to accommodate your requests. 

 

Participation Fee: $280 (includes tickets to the festival concerts)
