Chamber Mentorship Program
August 10-16, 2020 in caledon, on
The Chamber Mentorship Program is designed to provide young advanced string players to get a chance to work with some of Canada's most sought-after chamber musicians. This intensive experience will include in-depth rehearsals on a chamber music masterwork, private lessons, master class, string orchestra, and other activities throughout the week, culminating in a performance as part of the 2020 festival programming. Participants will also receive a free pass to all festival concerts.
All participants will be billeted in Caledon, and tuition covers room and board.
Eligibility:

Advanced string players (RCM Gr. 10 or higher equivalent)

*Festival activities begin on the morning of Monday, August 10th, and the final concert is on Sunday, August 16th at 2pm.

Once we receive everyone's application, then selected participants will be assigned to a chamber group. Repertoire for 2020 Chamber Mentorship Program includes
Mendelssohn Octet in E-flat major (1st movement)
Elgar String Serenade
Dvorak String Quintet in G major (1st movement)
Dvorak String Sextet in A major (1st movement)
A classical string quartet TBA

Application Requirement:

A recording of a solo or sonata movement from Classical, Romantic, or Contemporary period. (15 minutes or less)

Video is preferred, but audio is also acceptable.
